Žabljak

Žabljak is a village placed in the north of Montenegro at the foot of Durmitor, the highest mountain in the country. Also, this settlement with an altitude of 1456 m bears the title of the highest settlement in the Balkans.

The city has about 1,700 inhabitants and is one of the most visited tourist centers in Montenegro. It is visited annually by 40,000 tourists from all over the world who are drawn to the extraordinary beauty of this place surrounded by high mountains, glacial lakes, and untouched nature. Durmitor National Park was declared a World Natural Heritage Site in 1980 and is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Also in this area is located the deepest canyon in Europe - the Tara Canyon (1300m), which is the second deepest in the world just after the Colorado Canyon.

At only 1,30 hours drive through the picturesque landscapes you will come to the famous bridge "Đurđevića Tara", which was the largest traffic arch bridge in Europe at the time of construction.

Due to all its characteristics, the tourist season in Zabljak lasts all year, and both summer and winter tourism are equally developed. Including all the elements of an urban settlement, there is a cable car, a ski slope, a dozen hotels of various categories with a range of services, dozens of private houses designed to accommodate tourists, two motor camps, many restaurants, and other catering facilities
